Tide Challenge

Here's a testimonial to Maytag.  My current Maytag washer dryer were purchased in 1983.  My husband and I were just married.  He wanted to wait to purchase and continue to go to the laundromat.  We did this a few months (It was romantic.  We would go together and sort, spin, and dry.)  Eventually, we splurged and purchased the set.  If he knew how long they last, we would have never had to wait.

I think this might be my lucky contest because one of the family stories is about this being my husband's first word to read and spell.  The TV commercial at the time ended with T. I. D. E. Tide.  Apparently, he would repeat this whenever his mom was doing laundry with Tide.

Monrovia Plant Savvy Sweepstakes

This is the reason I decided to start my blog today.  I am an avid gardener and received an email from one of my favorite purveyor of plants and flowers:  Monrovia Plant Savvy Sweepstakes.

The have a contest involving their amazing peonies.  All I have to do to enter is to like them on facebook.  I can do that easy!  And here is the good news:
The Sweepstakes begins on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") and ends Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. PT ("Promotion Period").

Now I read an article years ago that stated your chances increase in winning a contest/sweepstakes whenever the contest period is short.  That is because less time means less time for others to enter!  We are off to a good start.

Why I am Here

A few weeks ago, one of the lotteries had reach $312 million as the prize.  I decided at that amount, I just had to play.  So I plunked down my $1.00 at the local lotto/deli and crossed my fingers.

Well, you know the outcome.  I could not (like Charlie Sheen) declare "WINNER."

A wonderful group of fellow employees won the lotto jackpot.

I, however, started thinking it might be fun to see if I could find a sweepstakes/contest to enter every day and post about it.  We'll see if I have a lot of luck or just a lot of fun. I will post under the tab "winning" if I win any of the contests I have entered.
